Missouri Pacific's first streamliner, the Eagle, took to the rails on March 10, 1940. It featured equipment by St. Louis carbuilder ACF and an attractive blue and gray paint scheme designed by Raymond Loewy. The original Eagle would be renamed the Missouri River Eagle to distinguish it from the fleet of similarly named trains that the MoPac would launch during and after the war.
